drawing mixed media wood in progress snow bronze digital bio

The physicality of working on a piece of sculpture is important. When I am working with wood, for example, I like the work process from the beginning… the smell of the material, the feel and texture, the color of the wood. These attributes all contribute to the experience of making a piece. The working process unites the raw materials, personal esthetic choices and the history that I bring to the work. I feel form and line as an alphabet that helps communicate a thought or story. The artwork comes alive when all aspects of the creative process come together.
